Powerball tickets can be purchased at any New York Lottery retailer for $2, seven days a week. The deadline for purchasing a ticket is 10 p.m. on draw nights. Drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 11 p.m., and the New York Lottery urges players to buy tickets early to avoid last-minute lines.

The Hoosier Lottery says a winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 was sold at the Payless Liquors located at 7369 Madison Avenue in Southport. The ticket correctly matched four out of the five numbers and the Powerball for Saturday's drawing.

Marvin and Mae Acosta bought $1.586 billion Powerball ticket at a California 7-11, said they would dedicate some prize money to a trust and charities.

The Powerball winning numbers are in for the Wednesday, Dec. 31 drawing with a jackpot that reached an estimated $53.4 million ($20.7 million cash value). The largest winning Powerball jackpot ticket sold in Michigan was worth $842.4 million and sold in January 2024 at Food Castle in Grand Blanc.
