Don’t fight me in the comments! Canned. Kidney. Beans is not the same as fresh kidney beans! And before y’all start…I’m not against canned peas because you all see me use gungo peas from the tin until they scream for mercy 😂 Canned kidney beans will not give you the same taste and most importantly, your dish will look slightly bleached 🥴 It’s that reddish color/tint to the rice that makes rice & peas authentic!
