Two days after Christmas 2019, one of the largest oaks on Oak Lawn fell over at Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. It split in two, with the first tranche falling early in the day, the second, late afternoon. The event shook those who visit, work at, and love the Gardens. Landscape Architect Andrew Laidlaw, together with Gardens arborists and horticulturists, saw an opportunity to celebrate the life of the White Oak by reimagining the site in which it fell as a place of learning and growth. | Roya
